  • Align your practice Chart of Accounts to Cashmanager RURAL

Whether you're importing BankLink files into your client's database, or exporting information out of Cashmanager for the end of year processing, aligning your Chart of Accounts to your client’s Cashmanager RURAL alphanumeric code list ensures that data sharing is accurate, with minimal unmapped transactions.

Tip: Once your client's code list has been aligned, BankLink transactions can be imported, pre-coded, into Cashmanager RURAL. How handy is that!

How do I align my practise COA?

Aligning your practise Chart of Accounts can be completed one of two ways, depending on how many codes need to be aligned:

    Align the entire code list

If you need to align the entire code list in one session, you can quickly and easily do so through Set Acct. Code in the Setup - Codes menu.

This will bring up the Edit Accountants Codes box:

    1. Cashmanager alpha codes are listed here.

    2. Enter the corresponding accountant's code for each code by selecting the corresponding field and typing the numerical code in it.

    3. Livestock codes require both an income and expense numeric code to align to sales and purchase transactions. All other codes require either an income or expense numeric code.

When all accountant codes are entered Click OK to save changes.

Tip: Don’t forget to align extended codes such as Nitrogen or Lime as well as the category code, such as Fertiliser.

    Align as you go

If you only need to align one or two codes as you go, editing the category or extended code is a good way to do this.

To bring up your client's code list, go to the transaction screen and select the Setup - Codes menu.
