• How to use Copy Special in your budget

A useful function when editing the budget that you’ve just extended or created is Copy Special. This allows you to copy data from Line Two into the budget that you are editing and scale it for your purposes.

Click here for more information on how Copy Special works.

Jean has extended her Main budget into the next financial year and is revising it. She wants to increase her electricity expenditure by 5%.
Her budget currently has a blank Line One and shows her actual data from her previous financial year in Line Two.

When the pop-up screen appears, Jean:

    1. Ticks Add to existing values as she wants to scale the values from the Actual data she has in Line Two.
    2. Selects Values.
    3. Selects Up; she wants to increase electricity expenditure in her budget for the next financial year.
    4. Enters 5 - the percentage amount she wants to increase by.

Line One is now populated with a 5% increase on electricity costs from the previous financial year.

Tip: If Jean changes her mind, she can right click on the first month of the electricity line and select Clear.
